Welcome!

“Fall Apart” – New Single from Hermidgets, Out July 4 2025

Hermidgets returns with Fall Apart, the first single from his upcoming third album, following the critically appreciated NIHIL (2024) and debut The Mire (2020). Scheduled for release on 4 July, Fall Apart continues his exploration of melancholic, emotionally charged electronic music – blending haunting melodies, danceable rhythms, and raw vulnerability.

Driven by reflective lyrics like “What are we doing here / We’ve done this dance too many times,” the track captures the weight of cyclical relationships and the quiet despair of emotional repetition. Hermidgets crafts a soundscape that feels both intimate and cinematic, drawing listeners into a night‑time world of slow disintegration.

Falling somewhere between the sonic palettes of late Depeche Mode and Mareux, Fall Apart maintains the artist’s signature style: atmospheric, darkly elegant, and deeply human.

“I don’t believe in telling people what to feel. The music has to speak for itself, without my face in the way,” says Hermidgets. “This song is a mirror – it reflects whatever you bring into it.”

Released alongside the single, the official video for Fall Apart is a fast-paced black-and-white sequence that captures Hermidgets singing and dancing in solitude among trees, grass, and riverbanks. Shot, edited, and directed entirely by the artist, the video plays with motion blur, layering, and light to create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and detached—like watching memory through static.

“I wanted it to feel like a fleeting presence,” says Hermidgets. “The camera never fully settles. It’s not about clarity—it’s about feeling.”

Staying true to his DIY approach and visual minimalism, the video reflects the same themes of isolation, repetition, and emotional fragmentation found in the track itself—without offering easy interpretations.

With a distinctive visual identity and a firm belief in the anonymity of creation, Hermidgets continues to position himself outside of trends, embracing solitude as a creative force. Fall Apart is not just a song – it’s the opening of a new chapter

In simultaneous to the release of their new album “Nihil” (about) on June 9th, Hermidgets (about) unveiled a captivating video for their latest single “We Tend to Disappear.” The song, like the entire album, presents itself as an anthem to nihilism, not as a rejection of values, but rather as an opportunity.

In “We Tend to Disappear,” Hermidgets masterfully blends their distinctive style of dark and melancholic synth-pop with profound introspection. The song pays homage to the ability to navigate the complexities of existence, embracing the absurdity of life and our finitude, while maintaining a sense of profound wisdom.

The accompanying video is a celebration of video art, where Hermidgets captivates viewers through plays of light, shadow, and close-ups. Adding further depth to the nihilistic yet consoling message is the serene yet intense face of a young girl, who serves as an alter ego, allowing the artist to convey their message while maintaining anonymity.

In creating both the track and the album, Hermidgets opted for a more essential approach, using a pair of analog synthesizers, a stable pattern of drum samples, and their own voice. The limitation of resources served as a stimulus for the creative process, despite the infinite possibilities offered by electronic music.

Both the song and the album are entirely written and performed by Hermidgets, who also oversees the production of their videos, embracing the DIY ethos in their artistic endeavors.

The release of “We Tend to Disappear” and the upcoming album “Nihil” reaffirms Hermidgets’ position as forerunner of innovative and eerie synth-pop. Stay tuned for the full album release on June 9th.

About Hermidgets

I am a seasoned musician with extensive experience both on stage and in the studio. Music is my passion, and my expertise encompasses songwriting, arrangement, performance, vocal work, aesthetics, and videography. My musical journey is guided by a broad and eclectic taste, yet I find myself drawn to melancholic melodies that resonate deeply with my creative spirit.

Specializing in synth-pop, I craft sophisticated tracks that explore the boundaries of sound, blending unsettling and distorted tones to create unique sonic landscapes. While my personal passions and tastes are evident in my compositions, I always strive to break away from clichés, seeking different road.

I value anonymity, believing that the essence of creation should stand on its own merit, independent of the creator. My approach to art is free from personalism; for me, the focus remains firmly on the art itself, allowing listeners to connect with the music without preconceived notions.

I have already released an album titled “The Mire” under the name Hermidgets in 2020, and I am excited to announce the upcoming release of my second album, “NIHIL,” scheduled for June 9th.

Welcome!

HERMIDGETS Unveils Second Album “NIHIL” – A Dive into the Abyss of Nihilism

After his debut album “The Mire” in 2020, HERMIDGETS (about) returns with his anticipated sophomore release, “NIHIL.” set for release on June 9th. Derived from the Latin word for ‘nothing,’ “NIHIL” is a seven-track journey into the depths of existential emptiness and dissonance, set against a backdrop of distorted synth-pop melodies.

Building upon melancholic melodies and distorted synthesizers that defined his previous work, HERMIDGETS delves deeper into the abyss of nihilism with this latest offering. Each track serves as a haunting reflection of the artist’s fascination with the existential void, weaving intricate sonic tapestries that captivate and unsettle in equal measure.

I composed this album using just two analog synthesizers, a selected drum sample library, and my voice. This self-imposed limitation inspired creativity despite the boundless possibilities of electronic music. My goal was to craft deeply melancholic, singable melodies, supported by constantly present synths with carefully crafted tones, sometimes distorted and other times enveloping

Accompanying the musical odyssey of “NIHIL” are four equally mesmerizing and unsettling video artworks, meticulously crafted by HERMIDGETS. In this project, the visual aspect is as fundamental as the auditory, serving to enhance and reinforce the sonic experience, beckoning listeners to fully immerse themselves in the artist’s dystopian vision.

With “NIHIL,” HERMIDGETS cements his status as a master of atmospheric soundscapes and a visionary of the synth-pop genre. Prepare to be transported to a realm where darkness and beauty converge in haunting harmony.
